Copy and paste this link to see a message created specifically for Lakewood students. I still have so much to learn about blogging, tweeting, and creating using the online programs that are on the web. Unfortunately, I don't quite understand how to create a link that you can click on without copying and pasting. Perhaps some of you can help me with that.

The Learning Continues.........
Students,
Your tech. challenged teacher just learned about creating story books @ www.littlebirdtales.com
I also learned how to make a Voki @ http://voki.com WOW!!!!! It was so much fun! Get your parents to sign you up so you can start creating stories and characters. Have your stories focus on a music theme and share them with me on the think-music blog.

Prince Miah & the Girltoyz on Tour in Los Angeles
Students!!!! I promised to keep you informed about your favorite band, Prince Miah & the Girltoyz so here goes......... They are leaving for California at the end of June and playing a concert on the Santa Monica Pier on July 2, 2012. Keep your fingers crossed that things go well for them. It's been fun having them visit us at school and share their music with us. I know that many of you have never had an opportunity to see or hear instruments in a live concert setting. The fact that these wonderful young musicians have been coming to spend time with you each year is invaluable to your musical education. Let's see what we can do about booking them for next year shall we?

Twitter.....Are You Kidding Me?
Students..... I just created a twitter account as part of a technology challenge. How many of you have twitter accounts? You may have to help me out with this. I find it very confusing. It's terrific being able to follow several musicians, composers, symphony orchestras, etc.... but also mind numbing at first. It will take a little practice before I am able to navigate freely on this blog and on twitter. Any advice for your technology challenged teacher?

Why Did I Set Up This Bog? Why? Why? Why?
This blog was set up as a way to stay connected with my music students over the summer. We all know that students loose some of what they were taught over the long summer break. By talking about music in this blog I hope my students will keep "thinking music" until we meet again in August. For those who have graduated, I hope this blog will help them to remember to continue with their music studies in Middle School and in High School.
